Seattle is a family friendly city located in Washington State USA. The city is located on the coast with a backdrop of beautiful mountains. Seattle offers something for all age groups, budgets and interests. You’ll find family friendly accommodation, food, entertainment and great attractions that are educational and fun plus plenty of outdoor activities like hiking and biking.

Transportation is reasonably priced and super easy plus a great network of walking and biking paths make it easy to navigate your way between sights.

If you are planning on visiting three or more of the most popular attractions, purchasing a CityPass is perfect as you’ll save some $$ For one price it allows entry into the Zoo, the Aquarium, the Space Needle, a harbour cruise, museums and more.

We chose to stay at the Pan Pacific Seattle, it’s location is perfect, so close to lots of attractions, transport, restaurants, Whole Foods Market and an easy walk to the waterfront. The rooms are luxurious, modern and spacious and the staff are fantastic.

Make your way to the iconic Space Needle. Jump in the elevator and you’ll be at the observation deck 520 feet above the ground with 360-degree views in no time at all. Its a fantastic way to see the city, the views are beautiful plus you’ll get your bearings for the rest of your stay.

Next on the list is the Pacific Science Centre right next door for a visit to see and explore exhibits for all ages. There’s also a butterfly house and IMAX theatres.

Take a stroll to the Waterfront to take a harbour cruise, check out the sea lions in the bay and enjoy the beautiful Seattle skyline with a backdrop of snow covered mountains and volcanos.

Located on the waters edge is the Seattle Aquarium its smaller than some aquariums but we loved it. It’s very educational particularly on the local regions sea life and ecosystem. You wont be able to leave the otters they are just too cute and lots of laughs.

There are plenty of great food options on the waterfront, many dating back years. Try a famous chowder or you can’t go wrong with freshly caught fish.

The Pike Place Market is a must visit, we opted to do the a walking tour of the market as its actually more like a whole district than one particular market. We learnt so much of the market history on the tour and found hidden gems we would never have found on our own. Look for the famous fish throwers and the very first Starbucks coffee shop.

Jump on a ferry and explore Puget Sound there are many islands just a short boat ride away to discover. You can stay on many of them with accommodation offering activities like kayaking and hiking. If time allows head inland to the mountains for amazing hiking or up to the beautiful San Juan Islands.
